
but then Windows would always end up re-installing it for some absolutely unknown reason (and I even have the setting to automatically update drivers turned off in Windows Update). The only thing that would ever seem to fix the problem temporarily would be removing the Realtek drivers from my PC in safe mode using DDU. I also used Latencymon to see if it would help point me in the right direction. I tried disabling and re-enabling pretty much every device in Device Manager and leaving the PC running for a while to see if the problem would go away, and tried uninstalling display and audio drivers and reinstalling them using DDU.


I've been tackling an issue with my first gaming PC that I just built last March where if I leave the PC running for more than 4 hours or so then I would begin to experience weird audio popping sounds every second + this odd consistent short lag that would happen every time the audio popping would occur.
